Speaker of the Seimas met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy: ‘Victory will be achieved after having implemented Ukraine’s Peace Formula’

In today’s meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, Speaker of the Seimas, has reiterated Lithuania’s full support for Ukraine in implementing its Peace Formula, achieving victory in the war, and consolidating its membership of the Euro-Atlantic structures.

According to the Speaker of the Seimas, Lithuania stands by Ukraine’s Peace Formula, because a just and lasting victory can only be achieved when Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty are restored and maintained.

‘For this reason, Ukraine must emerge triumphant. It must secure its place in the European Union and NATO, while those responsible for this war must be held to account. Justice demands compensation for the enormous damage caused to Ukraine’s state, economy, infrastructure and, most devastatingly, its people’, Ms Čmilytė-Nielsen said in Kyiv.

The Speaker of the Seimas is convinced that Ukraine’s membership of Euro-Atlantic structures is what will also ensure a sustainable peace in Europe.

‘I told President Zelenskyy that Lithuania has always supported Ukraine’s membership of NATO and the EU and is ready to share its 20 years of experience. Meanwhile, while consensus is still in the making, we are determined to ensure that the Washington Summit lays out a clear and irreversible path for Ukraine’s integration,’ the Speaker of the Seimas said.
