The Embassy of the United States of America is pleased to announce the call for applications for the DeVos Institute’s 2014-2016 Summer Fellowship for International Arts Managers.
The DeVos Institute’s Summer Fellowship for International Arts Managers is an immersive program in arts management strategy held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. For one month each summer for three consecutive summers, Fellows participate in seminars, group projects, individual mentorships, and practical assignments led by Institute Leadership and Kennedy Center senior staff in the areas of strategic planning, artistic planning, marketing, fundraising, and board development. Fellows receive air transportation, lodging, a per diem, visa sponsorship, and program materials. In their home countries, Fellows are encouraged to teach and distribute Fellowship resources. In this way, the Institute invests in critical arts ecologies worldwide, building strength and sustainability one manager at a time.
Applicant Criteria:
• Minimum five years working experience in an administrative capacity in an arts organization.
• Currently serving as an executive or department head with decision-making authority.
• Excellent business English, orally and in writing.
• Able to commit to the full term of the Fellowship (June 30–July 25, 2014; June 29–July 24, 2015; and June 27–July 22, 2016).
Fellows receive:
• Air transportation to and from the US from their home residence
• Lodging during the Fellowship
• Per Diem to cover living expenses during the Fellowship
• Visa sponsorship
• Program materials
Since 2008, the Kennedy Center has hosted 76 Fellows in six classes from 42 countries. The application deadline is December 1, 2013. The application is available online at http://goo.gl/fUmKWr.
