HowthenanoFLOWCELL® works
Flow cellscombineaspectsofelectrochemicalaccumulatorcellswiththoseoffuelcells. Liquid electrolytesarekept in twotanksandcirculatedthroughthecell. Attheheartofthesystem, a membrane separates thetwoelectrolyticsolutions, but allowselectricalchargeto pass throughandtherebyproduce power forthedrivetrain.

The resultsarevery promising: At a nominal voltageof 600 V and 50 A nominal currentthesystemisachieving an impressivecontinuousoutputof 30 kW. The nanoFLOWCELL® has a 5-times greater performance-by-weightthancurrent lithium-iontechnologiesthat power mostoftoday’selectricalvehicles, meaningitsdrivingrangeis 5-times greaterthan a conventionalunitofthe same weight.
