Perhaps few Estonians know that the Baltic countries have railway tourism bringing a big number of foreign tourists interested in technical heritage and similar tourism offers to Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia. The documentary Mit 191 Tonnen in die Unabhängigkeit – Estlands Eisenbahnen dedicated to this particular topic will be presented to the German audience on Saturday, March 25.
The story filmed in Estonia last summer presents the country's railway tourism. This is the last one of the three films about the railway tourism and its prospects in the Baltic countries. Previously, the German audience has seen the film is about this type of tourism in Lithuania and Latvia.
The documentary Mit 191 Tonnen in die Unabhängigkeit – Estlands Eisenbahnen will be broadcasted on one of Germany's largest TV channels, SWR. The film authors not only tell about trips on the Estonian rail, but also visit one of the most popular Estonian technical museums – Eesti Kaevandus. The museum is hosted in the former mines and is one of the most modern in Europe. The film also features other places of Estonia: Haapsalu Railway Museum, and a visit to the industrial railway line for delivering combustible slate.
This is the third film created by the Superkeliones.lt travel agency operating in Lithuania, together with a German SWR TV channel. The first film was released in 2009. The video story about the narrow gauge rail was awarded of the Lithuanian State Department of Tourism as the most successful tourism information dissemination project of 2009. Later, in 2011, the film about the Latvian railways was made.

The documentary Mit 191 Tonnen in die Unabhängigkeit – Estlands Eisenbahnen will be shown on March 25 at 16:30 German time, on SWR TV channel. It is expected it will be watched by several million spectators.
The film about the Latvian railways Baltisches Dieselgewitter will be repeated on March 25 at 16:00 German time.
