The US Air Forces Europe Band "Wings of Dixie" to perform in Lithuania

The U.S. Embassy is pleased to announce the return to Lithuania from September 11-15 of the United States Air Forces in Europe Band "Wings of Dixie," which will be visiting and performing in several cities of Lithuania during this week. As part of their Baltic countries tour, the ensemble of 7 musicians will perform to audiences in Vilnius, Druskininkai, Marijampole, Kaunas and Siauliai, where they will participate in the annual "Big Band Festival," as part of Siauliai Days. On September 11th in Vilnius, "Wings of Dixie" will be performing together with the Jazz Combo Group of the National Defense Volunteer Forces. This concert will be dedicated to the memory of the victims of the September 11, 2001 tragedy, as well as to victims of all terrorist incidents. During their performance in Kaunas they will also be joined by members of the Lithuanian Air Force Orchestra. Admission to all concerts is free.
